At the time of a pet’s death, the bereaved pet owner looks for comfort and understanding in a difficult time. A pet’s memory and place in the family can be recalled in a dignified manner with the one of the options below.
More popular is cremation. The cremains can be stored in one of many urns we have available on this site or can be scattered over a spot special to you and your pet. To determine the size urn needed you need to know your pet’s weight. 1 pound of body weight is equal to 1 cubic inch of cremains. If your pet weighs 25 pounds, you will need an urn size of 25 cubic inches or larger. Always go a few cubic inches larger when choosing your urn. Not all cremation processes bring back the same amount. Some will bring back more. You also need to make room for the bag the cremains come back in. We have had many customers that decided to plan ahead and buy an urn of their choice before the death of their loved pet. Some feel that they would find it harder to deal with at that difficult time.
You may choose to purchase a small urn like our Legacy or Estate II M series Marble Urns and keep a lock of hair as a memorial.
